Carol: Rosie & Mr. Fun

New Year's Eve Dinner

This is the centerpiece on Cyndi's table where we enjoyed New Year's Eve dinner. She was preparing "Christmas Dinner" for all of us -- turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, gravy, yams, cranberry sauce, creamed corn, salad, and pumpkin pie.

Cyndi had everyone bring something -- and the catch was that the entire meal was to be made from organic ingredients. The food was more than delicious and we had all agreed to have a "New York" celebration. So at 9:00 p.m. we watched via TV the ball drop in Time Square. We spent a few more moments together and then everyone headed for home to be off the road before the parties had ended and the drunks were behind the wheel. Bob, Lynda, and Ryan, Tim & Mollie, Donny & Karen, Cyndi, Mckenzie, George, and Mr. Fun & myself were all together for a lovely final evening of 2010.

Earlier in the day our daughter had sent us a text to let us know they had arrived at the mountain resort in Wrightwood to ski for her birthday. Later in the day when they were about to be back home she sent another text.

We were on our way to PetSmart to get indoor fencing for Chloe so she could stay home without us this evening, but be contained and not get into any mischief. That would give us peace of mind. Our daughter returned our text that they had the fencing we needed. We changed our direction and drove to their home and saved ourselves some bucks on the fencing. It was the first time that our daughter's family had met Chloe. She growled, barked and acted real tough toward our daughter's two pups. It was quite funny. All 8.4 pounds of her was just ferocious. We're hoping that eventually all three dogs become friends, but today we kept them all at a distance or tightly held as they sniffed noses. Mr. Fun thinks that maybe Chloe doesn't have a clue that she's so teeny-tiny!

So Chloe stayed home alone this evening when we went to Cyndi's and when we arrived back here at about 9:30, she was curled-up in her little pink bed. Other than her kibble bowl tipped over, there was no signs of mischief and no potty. Relief! We were glad to be home and she was thrilled to have us home.

It's now a little over an hour till 2011 arrives here.
Happy New Year everyone.

Good night from Southern California.
