At a guess...
...this is an American tree sparrow. I don't know that for sure, but I looked in three bird books and checked several websites, and that's my best guess. There are so many different sparrows and many of them are similar, so it takes an expert to know which is which. This is (again to my best guess) the first time I have blipped this bird (formerly known as the winter bird). Apparently it nests in the far north, i.e. Alaska and northern Canada, but it winters in this area. Maybe this is considered the "deep South" for the tree sparrow clan.
I captured several deer blips today that I will post on my blog (link on my profile page).
P.S. The sun came out today after several days and quite a few inches of snow, but it was still cold. The current temperature is 22 degrees Fahrenheit...not exactly a heat wave.
