Sciurus carolinensis

I've just discovered that the International Union for Conservation of Nature has added this species to its list of 100 worst invasive species globally, which sounds a little like a 'Most Wanted' list.

I accept that they are pests, but they are rather charming.

The light wasn't really good enough to take pictures in the gardens this afternoon, but I think this one's not too bad, particularly with the image sharpened and the contrast raised slightly. Besides, there was all too much colour in yesterday's blip so I need to settle down a little today.
