Cuthbert Simson's Room

What a horrible storm last night. Lost most of the roofing off my garden shed. Another job to be done!

The bad weather continues but we really shouldn't complain when other parts of the world are having it much worse.

So it was an indoor Blip for today. This was an HDR shot taken in the Provand's Lordship, the oldest house in Glasgow. Its been there since 1471.

It shows Cuthbert Simson who lived in the house in the early part of the 16th Century. There are two stories about how he met his death. The first is that he was racked, tortured and put to death for his religious beliefs. The other story was that a certain Lord Sloshpate caught him in bed with Lady Sloshpate, and even worse that he had poached a rabbit while he was there!.

I asked him what the true story was but he just sat there like a dummy.
