Thistle Down

By Ethel

Silence

There is a feel of silence,
When you are somewhere bound.
Where prayers are being said,
And need cuts off the sound.

A time when God might speak,
When you have had your say.
If you will hold...and meditate,
In such a silent way.

You may hear the rush,
Before the veil is down.
The cracking sound of air,
The swishing of a gown.

An angel song...so softly,
Circling around the throne.
The voice of Jesus speaking,
Where shafted light is shone.

For silence brings to light,
Some truths that's not been given.
And used to sound upon the ear,
And are only known in heaven.
