"These are Cows!"
When our son was a little guy, maybe 3-years-old, he used to stand in his bedroom at his little child-sized table where his record player sat and play records. He used to play a Sesame Street album over and over. One of the songs/sketches was Bert & Ernie with one of them looking at a picture of cows (I think). The other one opening the door and saying clearly, "Cows, you call those cows? These are cows!" and then the sound of a herd of mooing cows walking through the room.
It wasn't a DVD; it was only a recording. So, the two of us used to look at each other and say, "Cows, you call these cows? These are cows!" with heavy emphasis on the word "these." Then we smile and burst into laughing. (Honest, it really was funny.) We sure would love to find that Bert & Ernie sketch. I don't even know where to look. I have googled it, but found nothing and I don't remember the name of the album.
So nowadays when we see real live cows, we look at each other and repeat that statement. It brings an immediate laugh. Today we were just north of our city in the new community of Eastvale. It used to be nothing but dairy farms. Today it is an incorporated city of 41,000. The first track of homes was build there probably 10 or 12 years ago.
Some of the farmers have been slow or maybe that is "resistant" to selling their land to the home developers, so we still have cows within just a few miles of our home.
As we were driving through that community today, I looked at Mr. Fun and said, "If we see any cows eating, I want to stop and take a photo." We saw the cows. He stopped the car. I clicked the camera, and THESE are cows!
We talked about that years-old-memory of Shawn playing his record player the rest of the way home. It's a good memory!
Good night from a cold Southern California.

P.S. I woke this morning finally feeling better. Thank you everyone for the helpful suggestions. The headache is gone. My sinuses are draining, but so much clearer. I never lost my voice. A cough never developed. Relief! Now I am so far behind with my instructor duties that I'm wondering if I'll ever get caught-up. And we have an appt with the taxman a week from now, so I've got some paper work and number crunching to do. I'm a little overwhelmed. Sigh!
