BA Day

Today we spent the day in and around breathing apparatus (BA). It was the coolest day ever.

We first went over the facepiece, then took it apart, inspected all the pieces, put it back together, then put it on. Then we covered the harness and air cylinder. Then we got to get dressed to look like real firefighters!

We put all our PPE on, took it off, put it on, took it off, put it on, took it off. Then we started timing. We have to be able to put our breathing apparatus on in less than 60 seconds and this was our first practice.

The balance of the day was learning rescue techniques to prepare us for the hard stuff coming in a few weeks... Search and rescue.
