In 2022 a research team at Edinburgh Napier University embarked on a project to transform Lorna Lloyd's Diary of the war (previously blipped in the Blipfoto journal LornaL) into a podcast series. In 2023, the output of this work was recognised by the British Records Association at an awards ceremony at Lambeth Palace, London for the 2022 Janette Harley Prize.
Here you will find news updates on the progress of the Platform to Platform project from February 2022 onwards as we created the podcast series, including details of the podcast series launch event in Malvern on 24th May 2022.
For twelve months from July 2022, we also posted photographs supplied by blippers across the world of the locations mentioned in the war diary. We met our goal is to create a crowd (or blip) sourced album of every place that Lorna references in her writing.
Plans for work related to the archive of Lorna Lloyd's work in academic year 2023/24 are available in a blog post by one of the Platform to Platform team members.
The Platform to Platform project was funded by the AHRC through the Creative Informatics research and development programme, with support of the BBC, British Library, and Malvern Museum of Local History.
Find out more about Lorna Lloyd on the Malvern Museum of Local History's web site.
