I am a Glasgow-based photographer and worked as a freelance in the past for UK publications, including amateur photographic and countryside magazines. I use my camera now purely for enjoyment. It helps me look at the world afresh.
Currently, I use an Olympus mirrorless camera - an E-M10 with 14-42mm and 75-300mm lenses. I also have a Sony Cybershot RX100_III which has a pop-up viewfinder in bright light, and is unobtrusive for candid shots. I don't hesitate to take pictures with my iPhone 7 too. I enjoy living close to a vibrant city with its colourful characters, while having the Scottish landscape and its seasonal variations on the doorstep.
The challenge after 6 years of membership is to find new subjects, learn about them and improve observation, imagination and technique.. Some people use Blipfoto as a kind of diary, but my intent lies in capturing an interesting photograph - an aspect of the world that catches my eye. I'm not so motivated to read about others' everyday lives, and I don't comment very often on my own life, or follow many people, although there are a few people whose pictures I enjoy when time allows.
