...All the fishes love me.....
What was it hebs said last night when I suggested she might join in with the fishing today? "Nope, no fishing............I'm a hard bunny to shift."
Well here she is fishing................it took all of 15 minutes of watching James catch fish to make her decide she would have a go after all.
She hooked a decent sized roach, but it got off the hook, she hooked a small roach but it got off the hook, she hooked a decent sized bream.....and she landed it! She wouldn't touch it though, so guess who got all slimy.....yep...me.
James was a natural, after a few false starts, including losing a rig up a tree, he caught 4 roach and 2 perch. He listened to all the instructions, asked intelligent questions and picked up the basics very quickly. He even got the fisherman's truth stretching down to a fine art. Hebs went back to the car to pick up my cigs...quick as a flash James said " I hope I catch a big one while Mum's away.....and if I don't I'll just fib and tell her I did!" I tell you that boy has the makings of a Champion Angler.
After an hour or so the fishing died off so we went for a stroll round the ponds and saw the big carp cruising, a heron and various other bits of wildlife and then hebs said " You know, I get it now, just a few hours of peace and quiet sitting beside a lake must be wonderful."
Don't think she'll take it up seriously....but I bet she comes again.
Das vidanya moy padruga.
p.s. To be fair to hebs, the reason she lost the first fish was because I didn't have the net ready...so we'll let her count it.
