cactus petals

here it is - the first shot from my new toy! whatdaya think?

from my perspective - it's much more clear and crisp... i have done practically no editing at all to this - it's almost straight from my new camera other than a bit of cropping. it's of a christmas cactus that has decided to give me a random bloom in the summer time... yay!

i admit that i took quite a few shots trying to get what i wanted to be my first "perfect" shot... how funny is that? but i guess we're never satisfied are we? i was surprised to find that i still had blurry shots, ones where the composition sucked, etc. jeesh... for some reason, i figured a brand spanking new camera meant that all my shots were going to be exceptional now! guess not... boo!

but i can tell i'm going to have some fun playing around - because fun is what we need to have... every day, little by little, bit by bit... striving for perfection or at least a modicom of excellence perhaps, is not a bad goal, is it? we all should be working towards something - attaining, reaching... and it does help make my day a
