"I want a leg of bison at my wedding"
Today Patrick and Kerry got married. Patrick is one of my brother's best friend. Kerry is now his wife.
I was fortunate today to see love. I have never before attended a wedding. I'm ecstatic that I can never again truthfully say that. What an amazing sight.
The weather may have been a tad miserable and I may have known about 4 people there, but it didn't matter at all once I realized what was in front of my eyes.
I thinks it's such a rare thing to see a love like that. It's like catching lightening; impossible. I'm so proud and happy for Pat. He deserves all he will be given by his new wife and God. I envy both of them.
Starting out in a new relationship is easy. The butterfly phase is so precious and a bit hormone driven. It is that fight that you go though after that honeymoon phase is up that really tests your relationship. It's amazing to see what can happen after that little push.
Today I decided many things. At my wedding, I want there to be a bigger salad, I would like it to be up to the guests what they want to eat (not a buffet), and I want the quote: "love is always patient and kind; it is never jealous, love is never boastful or conceited; it is never rude or selfish; it does not take offense, and is not resentful. Love takes no pleasure in other people?s sins but delights in the truth; it is always ready to excuse, to trust, to hope, and to endure whatever comes. Love does not come to an end." to be said during my ceremony.
Wedding days are a glorious thing. They are days that for once, we stop focusing on ourselves and our happiness, and we rejoice in the prosperity of another's. A new life begins today for Kerry and Patrick. I wish them the best of luck and all the love in the world. May they grow old together and speak highly of the memories they will share until the end of their days.
