Coronado Bridge -- San Diego

We drove to San Diego this afternoon. Checked into our motel. Then headed for Little Italy to have dinner at the Mona Lisa restaurant. It was delicious. While eating dinner, we tried to explain to little Tristan that he is Italian, but he just didn't get it. No biggie. After dinner we stood in the parking lot to watch the big jets descend into the airport. Quite a sight because they appear to be skimming the rooftops.

Then we drove through some of the interesting areas of the city and up and over the big bridge to Coronado Island . . . a beautiful place. The view from the bridge is quite amazing . . . Point Loma is seen off in the distance.

Tristan knows we are on an "Adventure" but he doesn't know what is on the agenda for tomorrow. I think we'll go to the world famous zoo, but we've also thought about Sea World. We know whichever one we do not choose for tomorrow we might go to on Tuesday. We are also thinking about LegoLand, sightly to the north in Carlsbad. We haven't been to SeaWorld since our kids were children, and we've never been to Legoland. So if anyone has any advice to offer, we're open for suggestions.

It's been a pretty good day with our 4-year-old great grandson; he slept for most of the 90 minute drive south from our community. He is intensely verbal. He never quits asking questions, "Why?" "Why?" "Why?" and when he's tired, lots of sass! Then we know it is time for a nap.

Good night from San Diego.
