Carol: Rosie & Mr. Fun

Nap Time

I was busy typing on my laptop in the family room this afternoon when I noticed that all three of the dogs had gotten into their crates for a lazy summer afternoon snooze. These daytime crates are where Mitzi, Chloe, and Max stay when we need to leave for no longer than a few hours during the day. When we tell them to get into their "houses" they run as fast as they can and jump inside. Then we close the door and slide the latches closed.

These are the first dogs we've ever had that are crate trained. At night they run up the stairs with us to get into their little "sleep" houses in our master bedroom. Every night Mitzi, the little carmel-colored Shih-tzu, loves going to bed; Max, the pitch black Shih-tzu, rolls over on his back to get a tummy rub before getting into his house, and Chloe, our little white mixture of something, would rather not get in. If she had her way, she'd sleep in our bed. So I coax her in with a couple of her little stuffed animal toys.

Each one has a unique personality, interesting emotions, and the two females are always trying to convince the other who is the "Alpha" dog. Together the three are immensely entertaining and special little companions.

I guess it's a three dog night here now!

Good night from Southern California.
Rosie (& Mr. Fun, and Mitzi, Chloe, and Max), aka Carol
