Family Fun
I was about to head for the grocery store late this afternoon to purchase something to grill for dinner; then our daughter phoned to ask if we'd like to join them in about an hour for dinner at a little Cuban restaurant a couple miles from here. They were at the water park with Tristan and needed to get home to clean-up. So I put a halt on the run to the grocery store and will do it tomorrow.
At the restaurant our daughter Dede and son-in-law John suggested what food to order since they had eaten there previously and we had not. All of us keep Tristan entertained with a coloring book and a couple read-a-loud books. The food was delicious and the waiter was very friendly and helpful.
After dinner we drove a few blocks to the frozen yogurt shop for dessert. That gave us the bonus of spending a few more minutes with them and watching Tristan thoroughly enjoy the tasty "ice cream -like" dessert. He likes the mint cookie flavor. I did a blend of mint cookie and peanut butter with a dash of carmel syrup on top.
If I were a good photographer I would have captured one spectacular, knock your socks off shot, but I didn't, so . . . so, I'll settle for the collage that captures all of us sharing family moments on a summer Saturday evening.
Good night from Southern California,
Rosie (& Mr. Fun), aka Carol
P.S. Tristan is our great-grandson. He is our daughter's great nephew. Our daughter does not yet have grandchildren, but she treats Tristan like a grandson. Tristan's mom, Desiree, is in Oklahoma. She will be here in a few days for some vacation time.
