The Few Become Many!

This is just an update on my BlipFoto for 1 July 2011.

The entry for 1 July shows the first two blooms we got of the Ipomoea purpurea, and today's shot shows that they are beginning to display well. Here they are climbing up strings around a drainpipe. Not a very sophisticated background for such lovely blooms.

This is a closer view of some of yesterday's blooms.

I think that what I love most about these blooms is the dark purple colour and the velvety texture of the petals, and the usually faultless texturing.

While I am enamoured of these dark purple flowers, last year Particles & Waves showed us a photograph of a light-blue Morning Glory (26 Sept 2010), and that is beautiful as well.
