Asleep
Ben took himself off to sleep tonight. He'd been up since 6am. That's early for Ben. Very early. So early that daddy had to turn the computer on - it hadn't woken up by itself yet. He'd exhausted himself playing with his aunt and uncle who had come to help us move furniture around, and had managed a few bites of bread for dinner, then announced he was just going somewhere to go to sleep. He crawled into the room next door, lay down, and went to sleep!! Will wonders never cease. He must have been exhausted!!
We left him there while the rest of the moving around got done. He slept through the lot of it. I'd just finished tidying our bedroom up after it had been used as a temporary dumping ground while the front bedroom got turned into the living room, I was just putting a few toys away, and Ben appeared! No tears, no panic, just "mummy, Ben bed" so I got his pyjamas on him and popped him into his bed and had a lovely snuggle with him while he drifted back off to sleep. That has got to be one of the easiest - if oddest - bedtimes on his record. Lesson learnt? If he falls asleep, leave him where he fell! No disorientation, no confusion when he wakes up.
My brother and his wife came this afternoon and between them and Steve they have successfully moved most of the living room from the front room downstairs to the front bedroom upstairs, in between playing hide and seek with Ben and generally playing with him! It feels a bit like we've just moved into an apartment with the living room now just around the corner from the bedroom, but it does make us realise what a brilliant den / studio / office this front bedroom is going to be eventually.
Been a very long day what with Ben waking early and then that usual lethargic / exhausted feeling you get just when you need to have energy to do some serious housework! Got to keep the momentum going this week. Next weekend there'll be more moving of big stuff once we've tidied up, and then it's Builder Time!
Have uploaded an entry to my other blip - I didn't think I was going to get chance for any real photography today so I started taking pictures of my breakfast!!
