Aquamarine/Nanna K's Day

Remembering

I think anyone with access to a boat today was on the water. H and I spent some hours today and yesterday repainting the non-skid on the dock at our rowing center - in the hot sun. But there was a nice breeze off the lake and we watched literally hundreds of boats and boards go by. But my challenge today was to try for more depth of field with the 50mm. So this photo was taken 30 min before the sun set from the north end of Lake Union to the city. The Space Needle is out of the photo to the right with the flag at half mast but you couldn't see it with this lens. I wish it was a bit sharper. The bicyclist had a tattoo on the back of her neck that said "Soy Fuerto"

Of course we like so many are remembering where we were 10 years ago - driving across Canada. Son #1 and his wife were living and working just blocks from the World Trade Centers - we were headed there on our return. Our phones didn't work but he managed to leave us a message later in the day on our home phone that they were ok. (We're happy they live in Seattle now) The day the world changed. There were such heartfelt tributes all across Canada- but it was so hard to watch the news at night. Still is.
