Mr Heron

Today's the day ............................. for a photo opportunity

I took lots of pictures of herons during the week - but this is the one that I liked best.

There are lots of herons to be seen around the canals and because you can quietly sneak up to them in your boat, it is often possible to get quite close to them before they inevitably flap their huge wings and disappear off.

I promise you that this is a real bird that I saw land and take-off again - although you could be forgiven for thinking that it had somehow been put there as a photo opportunity for passing tourists ....................!
