Bog Bush Cricket
Today's the day .......................... to visit the moss
Went for the first time today to Foulshaw Moss - a most wonderful place full of dragonflies and damselflies, sometimes featured in the pages of gladders journal. I saw plenty of those today but they wouldn't stay still enough for me to photograph them. So here instead is a little bog bush cricket, that did oblige.
Foulshaw Moss is a raised mire or peat bog with very unique flora and fauna. Cumbria Wildlife Trust purchased the land in 1999 with the aim of restoring it to its original state before it was planted extensively with conifer trees and ditches dug into it during the 1950s and 1960s.
Today, it was a very lovely place to be with something interesting to see at every turn ............................
