"Formal" Boogie Boarder?
The two of us were having a late breakfast at the "New Historic Hotel Laguna" this morning when I watched this young man dressed in a suit walk right into the water with his boogie board as another person stood at the shoreline photographing.
I looked at Mr. Fun and asked if hewould capture it with our point & shoot. And he did. It's not the best shot because we were quite a ways from the scene, but honestly, over the years we've spent lots of time at the shoreline, but we've never seen anyone in a dress suit jump into the ocean. It would have been fun to have been close enough to ask, "why?" but we were busy eating breakfast.
We've had a terrific day. We checked-out of our motel in Laguna Beach, had breakfast, and spent the next several hours wandering through Laguna and Newport Beach stopping at the Friends of the Library stores in both of those cities; I gathered several inexpensive books as he collected CDs and DVDs. We made a quick stop on Balboa Island and made a surprise purchase of a lovely dress for me, and then we were on our way toward home with a stop at the PetSmart Hotel to get the three pooches.
What a commotion! They were so excited that it took the workers a few minutes to get the harnesses and leashes on Chloe, Mitzi, and Max. We finally had all their stuff -- beds, toys, and towels to snuggle with -- and we were headed to the car. Within 2o minutes we were home. They have spent the evening snoozing. They are exhausted from playing with all the other dogs.
I think we're exhausted too -- from playing? Who knows. What we do know is that we've had a grand time celebrating Mr. Fun's birthday, and we're one week from Christmas, so the fun just continues.
It's raining again in Southern California.
