Sea Beet

Took a little outing to Reenmore, on Dunmanus Bay, in the hope of seeing some wild sea but it was quite calm the wind had dropped considerably. I wasn't very pleased with any of my blips today, this is possibly the best. Sea beet or Sea Spinach is an edible plant that grows in the shingle, just above the high tide mark, although it must get a regular soaking when it's stormy. It can be steamed, stir fried and used however you might use regular spinach, one of the tastiest way I have eaten it was finely chopped and mixed with grated Jerusalem artichoke in a delicious dressing!
