Waterfoot Sunrise

Blue

After what seems like ages, the wind and rain finally died away this morning and the sun even made an appearance.

Made the most of the better weather and got back to building the fence. I seem to have been at it for ages, but the weather has meant I have only managed a few hours at a time and then had to stop for days on end. Never mind, I gave myself a break this afternoon and wandered down to the river where the tide was in. It was so unusual to see almost flat calm water with blue sky and white puffy clouds reflecting on it, that I had to make it my blip of the day.

The old break-water in the foreground has appeared in previous blips, but not with a sky as blue as this! The mountains of Arran are in the distance, with the highest hidden in the clouds having a dusting of snow.

An interesting follow up from yesterday's blip about the ordnance blown up by the Bomb Disposal Squad on Carradale beach. I was up at the farm this morning talking to 2 retired fishermen, one of whom knew nothing of the incident on the beach. When told where the mortar had been found he confessed to seeing it earlier on Saturday, while out for a walk, and kicking it about to see what it was! It seems that for fishermen on the Clyde dragging up old ordnance in their nets is nothing out of the ordinary. Their priority is usually to get it out of their nets and get on fishing. Hence, no need to make a fuss!
