Quad Pods
During one of my recent walks I had met a family who were staying in the local hotel and were enjoying some of the activities. They had two young children and were off to something called Quad Pods, which sounded great fun and was suitable for children the age of the older two grandsons.
So, this afternoon the boys had a shot on the Quad Pods and declared that it was brilliant fun. Basically a driver on a quad bike pulls half a dozen of these little pods along for a 10-15 minute ride along bumpy tracks, round corners, through wooded areas and through puddles. It obviously doesn't go very fast as it has little ones on board each pod but it is fast enough for them to feel that they are having an adventure. The boys loved it and want to go again.
Later, while the youngest was having a nap I took the two older boys up to the reservoir as I needed to find a place where I could give the dogs a good run without tiring out the boys too much, Grandson No 1 in particular. This was most successful and the loch looked just like the sea it was so choppy, with no sigh at all of the ice floes that had been very present on my last visit.
