Wonderful Wednesdays
Wednesdays are becoming a lot of fun these days. Mostly because there's not a lot on in the town, so we do things together at home.
So, today we:
* tried out the finger paints. Elizabeth isn't that fond of getting her hands dirty, so we had to clean her hands a LOT! But she enjoyed it. I haven't seen finger paints before, they are gloopier than ordinary paints. I got her to do some hand prints and blobs and circles etc.
* raced the cars. We had two little cars that we pushed between us, seeing which one would win/crash etc.
* played with "baby". We made up a little bed for Elizabeth's baby, out of a cardboard box. Baby got to sleep beside Rebecca.
* were read a story by Elizabeth. A new thing she's doing at the moment. She'll open a book and tell you the story herself, either what she remembers of it or she'll make up her own story from the pictures.
* made jelly with lots and lots of raspberries. And for the first time I managed to get it all out of the jelly mould perfectly! I didn't add enough raspberries for Elizabeth though, I had to get her more when she was eating it.
* went to "hidden treasures" where Elizabeth told me she was "scared of the peoples". I think she was more shy than scared. But there were a couple of mums/babies that we hadn't seen before. She got over it quickly and was running around the room with the other children who are about her age. Rebecca followed her all around the room, it was lovely to watch.
* tried chicken soup for the first time (Elizabeth, not me). She had a spoonful, said "I luff soup" then didn't have any more.
* did some cutting with scissors. Elizabeth is now holding scissors correctly, but I have to hold the paper for her to cut it. I'm impressed at how quickly she picked that up! The intention was to wrap a "present" for daddy, but she was too interested in cutting and forgot about the present part.
I'm sure I've forgotten something. But it was a fun day anyway. Non-stop! Especially fitting in nap and feeding times with Rebecca too.
