A Year in Phnom Penh

Visiting the elusive Mekong River Irrawaddy Dolphin turned out to be pretty easy as they are not as elusive as we thought. Before we'd even got on the boat we'd already paid for, we''d seen three of them swimming near the jetty. Amazing, when there are only 70-95 left in Cambodia that stretch of river, that we saw at least a dozen of them swimming round our boat (which barely pushed out from the jetty...nice tourist ruse).

It was worth it though and wonderful, especially as we got to see the rare Mekong Wagtail too (only found on a few sand banks in that area), which looked just like a pied wagtail.
