....sleeping in the Sun.....

Up bright and early this morning to go fishing....on checking my fb I noticed it's Shaun's birthday....not any old birthday either....the big 5-0!

Picked him up and admonished him for trying to keep it quiet.

Met up with Roy and Sam at McD's.....treated Shaun to breakfast...in fact treated everybody.....I had five vouchers for free coffee/tea in the car...so gave one each to Roy and Sam and we all wished Shaun Happy Birthday!

Got to the fishing venue and set up...it started well...cast in...two minutes later, tip whipped round ....I struck and reeeled in a nice bream about two pounds....five minutes later...tip whipped round again....another bream about one and a half pounds.

It went down hill from there, for the rest of the day all I could catch were roach....about 4oz each....still had a dozen or so. At 1.15 the strangest thing happened.....out of a clear blue sky it began to snow!....only for about 5 minutes...but all the same....snow...in April!

On the way home I phoned to let them know I was on my way back....the daughter answered....."Mum's in A & E " she said. After I left this morning the Boss, who had been complaining about a bit of tootache before going to bed had woken up to find one side of her face swollen up....an abscess. She'd gone to the emergency dentist who sent her straight to A & E.

By the time I got home the daughter had gone to collect the invalid. It's a doozy...like a cartoon picture of a toothache....so I made her some soup and a few minutes later full of celery soup, antibiotics and ibuprofen she nodded off....and then Pasha the cat joined her.

I grabbed a couple of shots....of the "best side"....she has to take the medication for 5 days but is back at the hospital on Tuesday morning to see the Maxillo-facial team.

Later I went out for a beer with B and D...we had a quiet night....B is due to go for an MRI scan on May 4th...then we'll know more.
