2014 more running needed

It's getting real

Oh my goodness, where do I start with this amazing day?
The beginning I guess.
Up at 4.30 to get ready to catch a train at daft o'clock to London for Olympic volunteer training. First bliportunity at prston station in the dark.
Bliportunity #2 at Goodge street tube station. The architecture of some of our tube stations is a joy. Tiled walls, brass edged steps and wooden hand rail. Just beautiful.
Arriving at Euston at just after 8am was about right because it took the rest of the time to get across London and go through accreditation to collect my ID for the test event.
Now, when I was interviewed they took my photo. Today I had to take my passport with my photo on it to get my photo ID for the Test Event. Am I missing something? I thought my face would match the photo thy had of me! It's not the greatest face in the world but it is mine and I take it everywhere I go!

The training day was just amazing. It just ot more and more real s the day went on. The list of photos I can't share is long: inside the athlete's families and VIP lounge, the view over the stadium from The Presidents' Lounge.
A photo of ME on the Olympic Track. Views over the Olympic Park from the VIP outside balcony (I resisted the temptation to take an offcut of the decking!) the indoor warm up track, the final call up room, and lots of the inside of the stadium taken from the track. One day I hope to share them.

Minnchip posted a blip the other day of The Blackfriar pub and it prompted me to visit. I'm glad I did.

I got chatting to a local who advised me well on the choice of beer and was kind enough to buy me one.

A group of young people dressed in yellow intrigued me. Turned out they were having a drink in every pub on the Central Line, and did it dressed in The Central Line colour!

A friend who lives in London came to meet me, which was great.
Some work colleagues who are down for the Marathon popped in. We really only had time to say "Hello" before a lady approached me and asked if I was Brian.

Her name is Mary and she is over from The USA with her friends Barabara and Carol, visiting Minnchip!
RESULT! We got to meet!
What a lucky, lucky day.
It really was the best meeting Minnchip, Mary, Barbara and Carol.
You are absolutely as wonderful as your blips. After a pretty rough week I feel the best I have in a long time and I thank you so much.

I could have stayed all night but I really did have to dash to get the train. I do hope we can meet up again when we both have more time

Thank you to everyone who helped me feel a whole load better today
