....just like starting over....
So, here we are again...coaching fishing...first session of the year.
15 kids turned up...not bad considering the only advertising we did was by word of mouth. The youngest one is four, the oldest 14.
Left work at 3.40....to the tackle shop....3 pints of maggots for bait...the shop does us a deal, because it's for kids. Home, changed, medication, out again. Arrived at the ponds at 5.10...the boys drifted in, all 7 of them. The kids arrived....the parents filled in all the consent forms, I filled all the bait tubs and gave out the rigs, Roy and Colin gave out the poles and the boxes, Shaun registered everyone, Sam did the safety talk.......and off we went.
Just short of two hours fishing/coaching....every child caught at least one fish...the 4 year old was so excited...like a dog with two tails!....our first lady coach, Vanessa turned up fashionably late! All the gear put away, a coffee and then back home just after 9.00....and I don't feel tired! I feel good!
The Boss has just looked over my shoulder and said "Where's that?"...when I told her it was the fishing ponds, which she has visited several times she replied..."Bloody hell, it looks fantastic, perhaps we should all go next week, it'd be a nice walk round the ponds."
In other news hebs looks like she's going to be a tv star...or at least her photos of the Moon are....the BBC are making very positive noises about showing them on The Sky at Night this coming Sunday...if you don't already, check out her blip journal A Plumber's Wife....and try to watch or record the programme.
