Archie the celeb!
Our good intentions of an early rise and out for breakfast did not eventuate. When the dog is still asleep at 9:30, you make the most of it! Luxury. And he hasn't done any of his midnight racing around the house for several nights. Has he grown out of it?
I spent a good part of the morning checking out the Guardian 'Books of the Year' and downloading a few lots. I love being able to do this at the touch of a button. JR declared that last book the best book she'd read, so I can't wait to get stuck into it - I lasted about two pages in bed last night. No, the best way to read is to make time during the day, which is the plan for this afternoon.
We also had plans for a long walk, but Sunday buses are not conducive to getting across town without taking up too much of the available daylight. So we wandered to Morningside and had a shared platter in the dog friendly Montpellier's. Archie was so good, because really, it's so noisy and shouty - he mustn't exactly like being there... But he lay down and waited patiently. I must say, he seems to like quite resigned to his posh coat now...
He was rewarded with a big run in the Links, with his our favourite game - COME! to tire him out. He wasn't, as he then charged all round the house (scattering rugs up the walls) when he came home, though he is now snoozing on my foot.
On the way, a man stopped us and asked if this was Archie and could he take a photo. Of course, he was a blipper!
And now, an afternoon of nibbling and reading. And possibly, quite possibly, snoozing...
The weather is glorious. I like the long low shadows at this time of year. Except when driving.
PS still leaving my comments off until blipcentral restore the proper links, it's unworkable as it is.
