Contour lines...

Hard frost again. Took advantage and sent 2 tractors off down the road to cart silage bales home while it wouldn't make a mess getting onto the road. Contractor spreading hen muck on stubble down there too. Came in for lunch to be greeted by an answer machine full of complaints about the stink! Can't smell a thing up here any way as I've spent the day mixing slurry! Will try to arrange to get it ploughed in tomorrow.
Had to fit a new battery to the wee McCormick tractor as it wouldn't start again this morning. Nothing is ever easy though. Had to take the loader off ,to get at the bolts, to drop the spool block, to make room for the battery to come out past the hydraulic hoses. Then had to swap the cables round,as the new battery terminals were the opposite way round. Then put it all back together again. At least it had the decency to start after all that !
The snow starting to shift a bit. These ridges across the side of the hill have been worn out by generations of cattle walking along the same path, causing this terrace effect.
