The Lake

The dog and I took a stroll along the top of the actual structure of the Taylor Dam this morning. It is one of the largest earth dams in New Zealand. It was built to protect Blenheim and surrounding area from flooding. The lake to the south of the dam is one of my favourite places to visit for observing and photographing bird-life.... and for the views from the top of the dam and around the lake.
