A slice of Lesley's life

Testing

We're experimenting with ways of washing the pup.

Lots of work. More bonkers puppy training.

But the main item of the day was J's visit to the neurologist - which was both helpful and reassuring. The Dr said he has Post Concussion Syndrome (PCS) and with the symptoms he is displaying his expectation is that he will recover 100%. The main thing they seem pleased about was that he doesn't have ongoing headaches or dizziness. They are going to do an MRI for safety but are not expecting to find anything. Primarily he has to be careful of complex mental activity and the recommendation is that he needs to listen to his body and do what he feels like he can do and rest when he needs to, especially if he is struggling to concentrate or is feeling tired. One of the things I think is particularly helpful is they recommend he takes each day and activity at a time and that he makes a call on how he feels and whether he is too tired for something and needs to rest. I think this level of control is helpful for both him and us. And the Easter holiday is well timed for this. They are also recommending caution with sport but are happy with the approach we have taken and think he can, again do some things based on how he is feeling. They also gave us some suggested things to try and reset his sleep patterns. And a follow up appointment in two months.

So all in all it was a really good consultation and we are very relieved and reassured. Jackson is still a little fed up that it is ongoing but I think is also a little relieved and is definitely happy at the level of control he has! Oh and was delighted to be officially noted at 5'3".
