Yabba Dabba (Hen) Do
(Bit of a back blip)
Had the most special hen do. I was really teary for a lot of it actually, just so grateful for the thought that had gone into the day, and priviledged to have such great people around me...which then got me thinking about the wedding and how much I value my family. Pretty much all of it set me off, in fact I was still sobbing the following day when I recalled parts of it.
We spent the day in London with beautiful weather. Afternoon Tea in The Strand Hotel, was first. Lets just say I took several photos in there and mostly of the many yummy cakes!
I was seriously confused when we went to Tiger Tiger next. I couldn't imagine what we might be doing there as we were lead right to a little room at the back to be meeted with 2 ladies in black. At this point a normal person would have guessed we were doing some sort of dancing but I still didnt twig, so when they said we were going to be learing the Grease megamix dance I burst into happy tears haha! I am a massive Grease fan and a few of our 50s inspired wedding ideas have come from this film so I was thrilled. I think my face must have been a picture as they all initially thought I looked unhappy but it was just the shock before the emotions rolled. Think we all did some pretty good thrusting and handjiving. :-)
Drinks in a bar and off for dinner at Bloomsbury Lanes. Cant beleive I didnt already know this place existed, its lush and I'll definately be going back. Its like an american rocknroll diner/bowling alley/club. We ate, bowled and danced ourselves until it was time to catch the last train home, where we talked and ate chocolates, and I finally told my mum a secret about her own wedding day that my grandad had told me over Christmas this year.
Was just a genuinely lovely day, well suited to me and our wedding theme, with some really special people. Its a bit scary when the people around you start to know you better than you know yourself!
