Yellow flowering plant

If anyone can tell me what the name of this plant, i would appreciate it. This only flowers during spring. This is situated next to the row of Sakuras in campus.

Finalized the outline of my (Dissertation/Thesis) Introduction today. I have realized that I need to do more readings to build up the story towards the problem that I am studying. And I believe I am way way behind my schedule. Writing is not really my thing.
