I was determined to see the shelducks today, which I have been told can be seen at low tide on the these mudflats and on the river as it fans out across the sands. Last time I saw a large flock of some kind of geese as they rose up into the air as the dogs, in their enthusiasm, rushed up to them. So today I decided to put Poppy on the lead to prevent her running ahead.

But she was full of energy and fun today, I just didn't have the heart to keep her on the lead, its no fun for a Labrador who just wants to race about, play ball and swim. So that was that for today. They probably aren't shelducks anyway. Poppy had great fun and wore herself out which, after all, was the object of the walk.
