Porty People and Places

A well kent face and voice was in Portobello this morning.

This is Lesly Riddoch and she was the first key note speaker at a cultural symposium that was being held in our town all day. Lesley, starring on BBC TV's  Question Time on Thursday was in fine form. She cleverly  re-ignited the whole question of whose culture is it and who has the real control over what we see, say and do in the name of art. The simple answer is nothing like the involvement that our European neighbours enjoy in their people up local communities rather than our (so called ) top people telling the rest of us what we should do here! 

Later Tiggy was doing her bit in the community music scene as Fun Fiddle brought the cultural day's extravaganza to a close.
