Inner Harbour
12.9C starting dull then with sunny spells and cloudy spells. Wind to 36 mph with gusts to 53 mph.
Maeve the Deerhound and I went through to Arbroath before 9am and had our walk round the harbour. The lock gate to the inner harbour was closed, so we could walk round in a loop (with a detour to the boatyard). I don't think any boats had put to sea today. The inner harbour was very busy and the outer harbour lined with shellfish boats and the day trip fishing boats. The sea was rough and even in the outer harbour the water was choppy.
When we got home Maeve wanted out into the back garden. I made sure she had her croissant corner first. She settled on lawn two which was the best sheltered from the wind. She seemed quite happy to lie out there, wind or no wind.
Maeve and I went out for a walk after lunch. Just two miles today, down to the shore road and round in a loop. Mary Chapin Carpenter on the Nano. The sea was looking very rough, surging along the shoreline. At the top of the main road out of Carnoustie a huge cloud of soil was being blown across the road. Usually something seen around March before the crops are in and growing.
