Bus Challenge-ish No 65!!

OR

THE PERILS OF WEARING SHORTS ON A BUS IN SUMMER!!

After seeing that the temperature was going up to 32c with high humidity, gave up on my original Bus Challenge plan of heading to Tredegar House and Newport in Wales, and instead took the bus to Prior Park Landscape Gardens on the edge of Bath. (I've been here before which is why I called it a 'Challenge-ish'.)

Standing below the home of 18th century local entrepreneur Ralph Allen (extra photo 1), there are gorgeous views across the sweeping valley to the rooftops of Bath and one of only four Palladian bridges of this design in the world (extra photo 2). The gardens were created with advice from 'Capability' Brown and the poet Alexander Pope. Thankfully the garden provided lots of shady paths and benches so we didn't overheat too much, unlike on the bus journey home! Was like being in a sauna!!

Now for some wise words... If you happen to find yourself sitting on a bus in the height of Summer, next to a hayfever sufferer, don't wear shorts! Unfortunately I wasn't aware of this sage advice... I was feeling very sorry for the man next to me who was suffering terribly, that is right up until the moment where my legs were liberally 'sprayed' by the biggest sneeze ever! I repeat, beware of the perils of wearing shorts on a bus in Summer!!

Bus journey times = 1 hour 20 mins
Waiting time in between buses = 35 mins (most of which was spent in M&S food hall freezer section trying to cool down!!)
Total journey time = 1 hour 55 mins
