Another great day for me....
I was so stimulated but also relaxed after my afternoon of swimming and evening of photography yesterday, that I completely forgot I had a two hour meeting lined up at 10am until I got into the office today and saw the memo and file on my desk! In my book that's a good thing. So, I prepped for my meeting, which went very well (in fact two and a half hours in total), though I have actually managed to persuade a colleague to take the deal on as it's more her field anyway. Result!
I also briefly saw my HR lady about K and said I think we are getting to the bottom of the problems, so we agreed to take no further formal action yet. I think that's the right decision. K has told me she's now taking elocution lessons, which if they work will resolve one of the biggest issues we have. An odd problem to have in a firm of lawyers I must admit, yet there it is.
This morning therefore flew by and I managed to get away at 1.30pm again and headed home to change then got straight over in glorious sunshine and cumulonimbus cotton wool clouds and 24C to the outdoor pool for another relaxing 40 minute swim. (Water temperature 22C). It was utter bliss and I'm feeling great now.
There were more people there today but only a couple of children actually in the pool, and another guy swimming for the last 10 minutes. So, once again, I pretty much had the place to myself. I've been surprised to see a couple of older men sunbathing with books and crosswords on the loungers but no women. That's not what I would have expected at all.
I nipped back home to change, snapping this mono shot of a tree-tunnelled road in Brickhill Woods by the golf club. Then I had a quick Acupunture session in Stony, all the while keeping one ear on the radio, listening to Sharapova get beaten and some young Australian giving Rafa a run for his money. I'll be having a night in, probably in front of some football or tennis and know I will sleep well.
