Winter holidays
Today is the first day of the winter school holidays, we had a great Saturday!
The past week, the last week of term had been rather chaotic and fast so before i knew it a week was over without me blipping!
There was an event in the city tonight, a lantern parade. The first of big events that the city puts on for winter holidays, we had planned to go but as the day went on the boys grew tired and antsy so we decided an early dinner and bed was probably a better idea, instead the lanterns i had bought for the parade we strung up in the hallway and i think they're pretty! I actually wouldn't mind keeping them up!
This morning i had a couple of errands to run, we stopped off at the toy library to get some new things for the holidays- a water play table, a colourful parachute, some dress ups. Things to do on colder rainy days.
We passed by the mall and grabbed some sushi for lunch then headed into town to take the boys on the tram. Its only reopened this year post quakes and as a special offer kids go free. The loop in which the tram travels is longer now too so it was nearly an hour the boys were on it. They really loved it!!
Later this afternoon i wanted to take the boys to the park for a run around. I gathered some leaves and sticks for an activity i have planned for the holidays , while i did so they found muddy puddles .
I told them to go for it. They splashed in the mud for ages, they were so happy. Boys love mud so i couldnt not let them enjoy it, its good for them to get purposefully dirty sometimes means they had a great time and plus it wore them out. I took them home and showered them after half an hour of muddy mayhem as they started to get cold, though they would have happily stayed!
