Back Blip for a rainy day

I had promised my daughter I would post this and today is the perfect time for it as it is once again pouring. I know I brought this on myself. Yesterday's forecast for today was partly cloudy , so I said " husband, let us go kayaking tomorrow! We haven't been out in 3 weeks !" Woke up to the sound of raindrops this AM. Sigh . So much for gardening too.
In any event , the dragonfly is a  widow skimmer, so named as the male leaves the female to bring up the kids by herself. Found throughout much of the US and Canada,  in ponds, swamps , and roadsides ditches ( our find).Apparently a male as they have white patches on the wings and the females do not.
