Diary of an Edinburgher

Obsolete...

The dishwasher man came today. Bad news. It's obsolete, and you can't get parts for it any more. And of course, having had a dishwasher, we certainly can't do without a one now! JR is happily researching dishwashers as we speak. Guided by the advice of our man who knows which brands are best, this narrows the field considerably.

I foolishly believed the weather forecast, which said 'rain in the morning, clearing in the afternoon'. We set off down to the Water of Leith Cafe to see 'im indoors photo exhibition. I'm a big fan of 'im, and I think that his photos and texts would make a fantastic big glossily expensive coffee table book. I'd buy it!

We were very impressed with the menu, and had some difficulty deciding - always a good sign. And we were both pleased with our  choices. Friendly service. Quiet muzak. Wonderful cakes. Good coffee. Dog friendly. We'll be back!

We had intended going on a dog walk from there, but the mizzle had turned to proper rain. We decided to just get the bus home again. But JR had dressed for the rain (sensibly) and so wee Archie got a walk through the wet Meadows after all, while I stayed on the bus all the way home.

Archie's very good at looking into the camera. I can flip the screen up to do a 'selfie'. How clever of him to still look at the camera when it's not me holding it. He must be very intelligent.

Or else he was just interested in the flashing light the selfie mode does...

No tennis to watch.  :-(
