at home with an Ivysaurus

Wriggly wriggly

Willow was stripped off for a ECG this afternoon, it took a while to get readings because willow was so pleased to see the man doing the test she was wriggling in delight.

Euan and ivy came in to visit today. I took briar and ivy out to a toddler gardening club. Ivy didn't really get stuck into the gardening but I think she enjoyed the adventure. There was snacktime and songs too. Ivy had to be persuaded to come play proper instruments as she distracted by electronic toys playing jangly tunes- because we've limited that sort of toy at home I think she finds them ridiculously exciting.

Attempted some tandem carrying- failed at getting ivy on my back comfortably for coming back to hospital and had to unwrap her. More practise needed.

Willows weight gain is static again. Volumes up again but she's been super sick again since that's happened- think she'll get new medicine tomorrow. We've got a discharge meeting tomorrow afternoon with all the people involved in willows case- plan is for home Monday hopefully.

Ivys suddenly got a squint. I'm finding it very upsetting that her big beautiful eyes aren't quite right. She's got a doctor's appointment early tomorrow morning. If she needs glasses, trying to keep track of them is going to be a nightmare.

Briar did a proper hearty laugh tonight whilst I was doing drummer hands with her. She's had a few chuckles whilst breastfeeding, but this was her first stand alone laugh. A nurse heard it too.

The presenter for the bbc alba version of 'one born' (Mairead no.2) came to visit again this evening- it's nice having soneone to chat to even soneone whose a relatively new acquaintance, I see how volunteer hospital visitors works now. If we're home by Wednesday, willow will be filmed again. Ivy will go bananas for a giant tv camera.
