The Other Poodle

There are many glass doors in our neighbourhood. When I was little, I used to think that a black poodle lived behind each of these doors, and that it was standing inside to guard or greet us, depending on my mood. I have long since learned that this is not the case, but sometimes I am caught off guard, like today, and I then have to stop and double-check.

I am now allowed off my lead in the sheep enclosure. Apparently, I was last winter too. Mum has tried to track them down, the sheep, as their barn is so quiet, just to make sure they are not lurking somewhere where I could start a game of Chase with them. She found them in two fields some distance from home, so we should be fine.

Mum got inspired to go and watch a movie today, so I had to be with grandma and grandpa. It's not too bad there, but I do only one thing when I am there alone. I Wait. On my bed, overlooking the front door. And when mum finally comes back I can't wait to cover her with kisses, jump up in her arms and run in happy little circles on the floor, so she'll knows she is Welcome!
