Death Valley, California

Oh my!

We set off this morning from Ridgecrest (Best Western China Lake - great hotel!!) - 35 miles up the road - hear a "beep", look at car display - soft tyre!!!!
Look at my Mum - should we carry on or should we sort it out?? No garage for miles and miles!!!! The image flashes across our minds of breaking down in the middle of Death Valley and our parched bodies being picked over by vultures ...... okay, let's go back to the nearest garage and get it all sorted out .... cut a long story short - here is one of our first views over Death Valley and desolate does not begin to describe it. As for the temperature ... 112 degrees (around 42 centigrade) and dry as dust.

What an incredible place and can see why it has the name it has.
