Transition to Winter in the Italian Alps

The sun was shining once I got out of the trees, but the air temperature, wow, was it cold. The water above 2,500m is definitely turning to ice as you can see here. There was too much snow to continue to my intended destination, I stopped at 3,000m in that delicious mountain silence, didn't see a soul all day except for 6 chamois. See extra photos for them and a flavour of this valley, full of golden larches (can't upload a second shot it seems).

Yesterday's chamois is enjoying his place on the no. 1 popular page. Thanks to all who gave him his moment in the Blip world spotlight.
