Stamford Bridge

Went to York to get my knee checked out today, all OK. The hospital is on the Huntington Road which was one of the worst hit areas in the city. One side of the road was full of skips with peoples sodden possessions piled up, it was so sad, everything was muddy and of course it was still raining.

On the way home I stopped off at Stamford Bridge where loads of pumps were in operation, piping water into the river area which had spread across the countryside. This blips shows the picnic area about 15 feet above the river and ironically the willow tree was beginning to have some green leaves showing!
