Land Ahoy

The sea remained flat calm all the way over from Holland. After breakfast we adjourned once more to the Sky Deck to enjoy the sunshine. As we approached land it started to mist over slightly.

Our first sight of land appeared through the mist quite suddenly with a view of this lighthouse off the Starboard side of the ship. We then proceeded slowly into Newcastle.

Disembarking and customs all went very smoothly and we were on our way to Aberdeen within half an hour or so of the ship docking. Took me a moment to remember to drive on the wrong side of the road! The journey back was smooth though rather tedious. The A1 is not the greatest road in the world.

So back to reality after a very enjoyable two weeks in Holland. Surprisingly after what I had heard the weather was good in Aberdeen, though not in the high twenties to which we have come to expect.
