She'll sit up like this for minutes at a time. She actually did this when we first spotted her in the rescue centre and I stroked right down her back. I suspect it's one of the reasons she was overlooked for more than a month there, but as long as you know what triggers it you can pet her with no reaction other than a loud purr; or deliberately spark her into playing if you want.
